Tell me about yourself?Answer : This is the first question in any interview. Try to be relaxed and depending in the situation answer in a casual manner. In short you can answer as "I am down-to-earth, smart, creative, innovative, industrious, and thorough". Most of the interviewers are fine with this.
How would your describe your ideal job?
Answer : To tell you very frankly, I would like to work in a fun and a warm environment where each individual working independently towards team goals or individual goals. Secondly, I don't pay much attention to minor elements, such as dress codes, the casual work area and the level of formality. However, the most important for is an atmosphere that fosters attention to quality, honesty, and integrity within the organization. Apart from this, there should be an environment where everyone gets equal opportunities to excel.
What type of supervisor have you worked with and whom you found to be the best?
Answer : Frankly speaking, I have been very fortunate enough to work under wonderful supervisors who have provided limited supervision. The kind of freedom we got allowed us to deliver better results. In my experience, I can confidently say that the best supervisors are those who give positive feedback and tactful criticism, both of which are very necessary.
Describe in detail how has your experience prepared you for your career?
Answer : When it comes to experience you may describe your work and professional experience first, then focus on others.
Professional Experience: Through my experience in different organizations, I have gained self-esteem, confidence, and problem-solving skills. I am well skilled in different technologies that is required for this job profile and have gathered enough domain knowledge to perform well in any job.
Courses , Training and Certifications : Apart from your technical and professional skills, I have learned and gained a lot from my technical courses and training. I think the design documents, reports, and presentations have prepared me most. In addition to this mention the certifications that you have completed.
Academic Career :
Have worked on multiple projects for different student organizations while always performing well in my academics and grades. In addition, I have developed effective leadership skills, communication, and teamwork abilities apart from technical skills.
Life Experience:Try to keep this as short as possible. Tell that in general, life has taught you a lot of determination and the importance of maintaining my ethical standards in your work.
Do you prefer to work alone, or do you work better in groups?
Answer : Try to answer carefully. You should answer keeping in mind the kind of role that you will be in. If the position you are applying for requires you to work alone, it doesn’t make much sense to say that you enjoy working in groups. However, if the position requires you to work in groups, and if you tell that you like working alone will only create a negative impression. Having said that, the answer you give should be an honest one, because things might change in the future when you get hired.
What will you be doing in the next 5 years related to your career?
Answer : Though its early for me, still I have made a plan for the next 4-6 years. While, I intend to learn as much as possible during the job, I would be taking up PMP examinations so that I will get an opportunity to serve in supervisory/leadership/managerial roles in my job.
Explain how do you handle stress or pressure in your job?
Answer : Mental stress and work pressure are part of the jobs in today's world. Work related stress is an important issue because high levels of stress can act negatively and is counter-productive. instead of stress, we should be passionate which will allow to work harder.
What are the criteria that you use to decide the organization you will work for?
Answer : Though there may be many many criteria, the most important being quality, ethics, and teamwork. I would definitely like to work for a company that give rewards to good performers.
Answer : This is a question that is pretty much expected in all companies, so it is advisable that you may prepare well before hand. Try answering this question as if you are selling yourself. Focus on your skills, personality, and experience which will allow you to contribute significantly to the company. Answer this question with a lot of self-confidence. Dont give the chance to the employer suspects this, you may lose your chance to get selected.
